We Do Law Differently

Renaissance Legal Solutions, PLLC was born out of the culture shift that took place during “the great lockdown.” Just as many others at that time, RLS founder and managing partner Felina Rivera ached to do more than just earn a paycheck, living her life “on the clock” for a boss to manage how and where she spent her days. And so, Rivera launched her solo practice on April 20, 2021 in Rivera’s spare bedroom with four paying clients and several pro-bono projects in the works.

Meanwhile, feeling the same strain as Rivera, attorney Kindra Dotson launched her solo practice in late 2021, officing often times out of the local library – whatever it took to make it work for her and her family, she was willing to do. As single moms, balancing kids’ schedules, household duties, as well as the financial burden each carried, work-life balance became more important than ever during the pandemic, and so Rivera and Dotson joined forces and officially launched Renaissance Legal Solutions, PLLC on January 1, 2022, with the plan to do the practice of law differently.

The term “renaissance” refers to more than just an era of history. Derived from the Latin word ‘Renaistre’, it means rebirth, revival or new beginning. It is also often used to refer to a “Renaissance man” and the notion that “a man can do all things if he will.”

Founding partners Rivera and Dotson, though not men, certainly fit the definition of “Renaissance women”, putting their whole hearts, minds, and souls not only into the legal work they do, but into the children they provide for, the art and causes they love, and the people surrounding them who make the work they do possible.

And so, it was with the idea that law could be practiced in a way that made sense for both partners as well as those they serve, that Renaissance Legal Solutions was created. Post-pandemic America looks and operates differently, and so should the practice of law. At Renaissance Legal, we care about delivering quality services to all of our clients, as well as providing pro-bono services to the industries and causes our attorneys and staff care about.

We understand, like us, you are trying to create a life worth living, with balance, and integrity – something to be proud of and to share with your loved ones.
